Safe Sitter®

Is your child ready to stay home alone, watch younger brothers and sisters while you’re away from the house, or babysit for younger children? Then maybe it’s time for Safe Sitter®. Safe Sitter® is for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children.

Safe Sitter® teaches young teens how to practice important safety skills, how to handle emergencies, how to treat illnesses and injuries, and basic infant/child CPR. In addition, students learn important business skills, like how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers.

Safe Sitter® is a 7 1/2 hour course.

Fee: $130, includes all materials and a Safe Sitter® starter kit.

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® 

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. Safe@Home is a 90-minute program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Safe@Home is ideal for students who have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Students who are interested in learning how to stay home alone safely as well as care for younger children should complete one of our comprehensive Safe Sitter® courses.
